Janice A. Seitz
Janice Seitz has a deep understanding of and appreciation for education and leadership development having served as director, Leadership Development Program, College of Education, University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign (UIUC). From 2003 to 2012, Jan served as associate dean and director of extension and outreach in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at UD.
In 2014, she established the Dr. Janice A. Seitz Extension Scholars Fund designed to provide students from across campus an opportunity to engage in hands-on research and real-world learning experiences through the Cooperative Extension. She also established the Dr. Janice A. Seitz Seed Fund to provide extension professionals opportunities for piloting new initiatives, with the goal that they will lead to larger research efforts and major grants. Most recently, Jan established the Dr. Janice A. Seitz Scholarship in the Biden Institute and the Dr. Janice A. Seitz Scholarship in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources as part of the President’s Scholarship Challenge.
Jan has received numerous awards during her career, including the UIUC Women’s Association Bronze Medallion and the UIUC College of Education Distinguished Alumni Award for Significant Impact. In 2015, Jan was featured in Fred Dawson’s book entitled “Pearls: Women Who Radiate Success.”
