Thomas W. Hofmann ’73
Tom Hofmann received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from UD and has been a commensurate supporter for more than 10 years. In 2012, he established the Ethel and Donald Hofmann Research Fund to Support NUCLEUS, in memory of his parents. The Fund helps College of Arts and Sciences students from underrepresented backgrounds by offering academic support services and professional development. The Hofmanns also created a UD partnership with Fox Chase Cancer Center where four UD students work at Fox Chase for an intense summer internship.
In 2008, Tom retired as senior vice president and CFO of Sunoco after more than 30 years with the company. He serves on the board of West Pharmaceutical and formerly served on the boards of Northern Tier Energy, Columbia Pipeline Partners, PVR Resources and Viasys Healthcare. He also has dedicated himself to several nonprofit organizations by serving on the board of directors of Temple University Health System, Fox Chase Cancer Center, Scholar Academies and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia.
