Charles W. ’75 and Patricia A. Horn
Charlie and Patty Horn are dedicated to the advancement of entrepreneurship and innovation through interdisciplinary collaboration and studies. In 2012, they created Horn Entrepreneurship in the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics at UD and today it stands independently serving all seven colleges on campus and many programs off campus. Horn Entrepreneurship includes degree programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and graduate certificate levels; numerous experiential programs for all students and faculty, the annual Hen Hatch business plan competition and innovation showcase, and the world renowned Diamond Challenge for High School Entrepreneurs.
Charlie is a seasoned and award-winning entrepreneur and investor. He is currently founder and chair of 5Lights LLC and Genius Avenue and was founder of ScriptSave, which he sold in 2013. In 2015, Charlie was honored with the UD Alumni Wall of Fame award.
Patty is an accomplished singer/songwriter who has published several children’s music albums about the desert. Charlie and Patty founded and co-chair the Touchstone Foundation, which provides funding to a variety of health care and family service charitable organizations. Charlie is the founding member of the Horn Advisory Board.
