Morton ’58 and Donna K. Collins
Mort and Donna Collins know the importance of giving back in meaningful ways. In 1999, they established the Morton ’58 and Donna Collins Chemical Engineering Fellowship in support of graduate students in chemical engineering. Mort also established the Eva M. Collins Memorial Wing of Colburn Laboratory, home of UD’s Chemical Engineering Department, in honor of his late wife, Eva, who passed away in 1990. Mort is founder and managing partner of M. Collins Ventures LLC, a venture capital fund focused on therapeutic immunology, ultrafast lasers and quantum computing. He was also founder and managing partner of Battelle Venture Partners, an early-stage venture capital fund.
Mort is a member of the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Advisory Council and has been a member of the President’s Leadership Council since 2012. In 1988, he was honored with the UD Alumni Wall of Fame award. Among many other philanthropic pursuits, Mort and Donna are also trustees of the Collins Family Foundation, and Mort is a trustee of the Wistar Institute.
